The U.S. Department of Labor awarded $65 million through the sixth round of its Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants to help 102 community colleges develop short-term programs in construction, AI infrastructure, nuclear energy, advanced manufacturing, and shipbuilding.
Awards include: (1) $10.8 million to Hawkeye Community College in Iowa; (2) $10.8 million to the Junior College District of St. Louis in Missouri; (3) $10.77 million to Pueblo Community College in Colorado; (4) $10.47 million to Alamo Community College District in Texas; (5) $8.54 million to Northwest Mississippi Community College; (6) $7.66 million to Pellissippi State Community College in Tennessee; and (7) $5.96 million to the Community College of Rhode Island.
