White House Says Trade Deals Coming After Congress Finishes Reconciliation

White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett said that the White House is waiting until after Congress completes action on the reconciliation bill to announce more trade deals. Hassett said the deals were “very close” with a few countries and that “you’re going to see a sequence of trade deals, really starting from around the Fourth of July.” Hassett’s comments come as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the date for the nation to reach its debt ceiling could change if courts interfere with President Trump’s tariff policies.
