U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has a new Strategic Plan for fiscal years 2023-2026. USCIS is the agency within the Department of Homeland Security that administers the country’s naturalization and immigration system. The Strategic Plan highlights three goals: (1) Strengthening the U.S. Legal Immigration System; (2) Investing in the USCIS Workforce; and (3) Promoting Effective and Efficient Management and Stewardship.
Notably for SWACCA, under the first goal of “Strengthening the U.S. Legal Immigration System,” USCIS states that it will begin developing an E-Verify “Next Generation” Proof of Concept that will, among other things, integrate the E-Verify and Form I-9 in an effort to streamline the verification process.
