U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the extension—until March 9, 2025—of the validity of Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) issued to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries under the designations of El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Nepal, and Sudan. Current TPS beneficiaries under these designations that have not re-registered for TPS under the most recent extension for that designation must submit Form I-821, “Application for Temporary Status,” during the current re-registration period to keep their TPS benefits.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) previously extended the re-registration period for individuals to submit TPS applications as follows: (1) until March 9, 2025 for El Salvador; (2) until July 5, 2025 for Honduras; (3) until July 5, 2025 for Nicaragua; (4) until June 24, 2025 for Nepal; and (5) until April 19, 2025 for Sudan. Note that while the re-registration periods end on different dates, EADs are all extended through the same date of March 9, 2024.
