The U.S. Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration has issued the following press release announcing the release of three long-awaited documents addressing compliance issues involving ERISA health and retirement plan deadlines and compliance during the COVID-19 National Emergency: Joint Guidance with Treasury extending certain deadlines for ERISA retirement and health plans; a series of new FAQs on ERISA health and retirement benefit matters that has some important COBRA information; and Joint Guidance with Treasury on deadlines to exercise COBRA and related health plan rights.
