Signatory Wall and Ceiling Contractors Alliance (SWACCA) President Gregg Brady released the following statement on President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR) to serve as U.S. Secretary of Labor:
“Through her work as a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, the Republican Main Street Partnership, the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, the Congressional Building Trades Caucus, and the Congressional Apprenticeship Caucus, Rep. Chavez-DeRemer has earned a reputation as a practical, mainstream, solutions-oriented legislator respected by both employers and workers. Her leadership on the National Apprenticeship Act of 2023 displays her commitment to and understanding of registered apprenticeship programs as critical to building the 21st century workforce and a strong middle class. SWACCA hopes Rep. Chavez-DeRemer will be confirmed quickly in the next Congress, and we look forward to working with her,” said President Brady.
