This afternoon, Senate Republicans voted to change the chamber’s rules to allow senators to confirm batches of President Trump’s simultaneously. The vote was 53-45 along party lines. The first resolution that will be considered following the rules change contains 48 nominees, including, among others, Daniel Aronowitz to lead the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration. The 48 nominees are now on track to be confirmed by next week. Before the vote, Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) warned Republicans that they will “come to regret” their action.
