Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) argued in a new op-ed in the Wall Street Journal that “it is time to change Senate confirmation rules” because “Democrats have broken their ‘advice and consent’ responsibilities” through dilatory tactics. Among the rules changes Republicans are considering are reducing debate time for nominations. Sen. Barrasso called recess appointments only a “temporary fix.”
