The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee announced a hearing next Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 10am entitled, “Freedom to Work: Unlocking Benefits for Independent Workers.” The hearing follows HELP Committee Chair Cassidy’s (R-LA) introduction of legislation earlier this week to protect employers from charges of misclassifying their workers as independent contractors. The witnesses for the hearing are not yet available.
