The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee voted 13-9 to advance former Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s (R-OR) SWACCA-supported nomination to be the next Secretary of Labor to the full Senate for a vote. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was the only Republican to vote no, while Chavez-DeRemer picked up the support of Democratic Sens. Maggie Hassan (NH), John Hickenlooper (CO), and Tim Kaine (VA). Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) missed the vote to advance Chavez-DeRemer’s nomination.
