This evening, President Trump plans to sign an executive order directing the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security to identify within months the “sanctuary cities and states” that are not complying with federal immigration laws. The list will also include “state and local jurisdictions that obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration laws.” Trump will also sign another executive order that aims to “strengthen and unleash America’s law enforcement to pursue criminals and protect innocent citizens,” according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
