Over the weekend, President Trump threw more uncertainty into pending tariff negotiations by threatening to impose 30% tariffs on the European Union and Mexico if they do not cut a deal he likes by August 1, 2025. These new tariffs would replace Trump’s previous threat of 20% reciprocal tariffs on E.U. goods and 25% reciprocal tariffs on Mexican goods.
