President Trump Says Canada to Remove Tariffs on USMCA Compliant Goods

President Trump said he spoke to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and that Carney said he would remove some of the retaliatory tariffs against the United States in an attempt to calm trade tensions between the two nations. Specifically, Carney will remove 25% tariffs imposed in March on U.S. goods that are in compliance with USMCA. The new tariff rates will go into effect on September 1.
