President Trump Nominates Terry Cole, Who Has Previously Voiced Concerns About the Dangers of Marijuana Use, to Lead the Drug Enforcement Administration

President Trump announced that he selected Terry Cole to be the next head of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Cole served 22 years with the agency and is currently Virginia’s Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security. Cole has previously voiced concerns “about the dangers of marijuana and linked its use to higher suicide risk among youth,” which may impact the future of the Biden DEA’s rescheduling proposal.
