Over the weekend, President-elect Donald Trump nominated Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR), a pro-labor Republican who recently lost her re-election bid to Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, to be the next U.S. Secretary of Labor. DeRemer has the backing of the Teamsters and Teamsters President Sean O’Brien, who called her “an excellent choice.”
