The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced a virtual public hearing on its proposed rule on heat injury and illness in indoor and outdoor settings on June 16, 2025. SWACCA has been engaged on this rulemaking since our submission of joint comments with the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry on OSHA’s advance notice of proposed rulemaking in January 2022 and we most recently submitted comments on the proposed rule in January with the Construction Industry Safety Coalition.
The public hearing on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking will begin on June 16, 2025 at 9:30am and will continue on subsequent weekdays if necessary. Those interested in speaking during the hearing must complete a Notice of Intention to Appear form by May 2, 2025. The hearing can be viewed online without registering. Instructions for watching the hearing will be posted on OSHA’s rulemaking website.
