Meta Platforms, Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that his company will spend hundreds of billions of dollars on building new artificial intelligence data centers in the United States. The first multi-gigawatt data center in New Albany, Ohio, called Prometheus, is expected to come online in 2026. Zuckerberg said Meta was also planning to build several multi-gigawatt data center clusters, and that one such cluster in Richland Parish, Louisiana that is set to come online in 2026 called Hyperion could be scaled up to five gigawatts over several years.
