The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the creation of a “Civil Rights Fraud Initiative” that will utilize the False Claims Act to investigate and/or pursue claims against recipients of federal funds that knowingly violate federal civil rights laws. The initiative appears to specifically target institutions that “take federal money only to allow anti-Semitism and promote divisive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.”
