A federal judge has halted President Trump’s freeze on federal aid programs, ruling that the courts need more time to consider the potentially far-reaching ramifications of his order. U.S. District Judge Loren AliKhan’s order blocking Trump’s spending freeze will expire on February 5, 2025 at 5pm ET and the Trump Administration cannot suspend disbursement of any congressionally appropriated funds until then.
