Last night, the House voted 217-213 to pass a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the federal government through September 30, 2025—the end of the fiscal year (FY) 2025. The chamber cleared the continuing resolution in a largely party-line vote, with just one Democrat—Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME)—voting with Republicans. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) was the lone GOP no vote. The bill now heads to the Senate, where at least seven Democrats will need to support the bill to overcome a filibuster and avoid a federal government shutdown on Friday.
