House Education and Workforce Committee Chair Tim Walberg (R-MI) sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi seeking an update from the Department of Justice (DOJ) about its recovery of taxpayer dollars that were erroneously paid to deceased beneficiaries under the Special Financial Assistance program. As part of Walberg’s investigation, the Committee is “seeking information about the steps DOJ is taking to ensure that taxpayer money is recovered after the Biden-Harris Administration made improper payments to multiemployer pension plans.”
