Drugmakers GSK and Eli Lilly referenced President Trump’s tariffs in announcing plans to build new manufacturing and other facilities in the U.S. GSK said that it is planning a $30 billion investment in U.S. research and development and supply-chain infrastructure over the next five years. Eli Lilly said it plans to build a $5 billion manufacturing plant west of Richmond, Virginia to make monoclonal antibodies and bioconjugates.
