FTC Appeals Florida District Court Ruling Temporarily Blocking the Final Rule Banning Non-Compete Agreements

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a notice of appeal to the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals seeking to overturn a Florida District Court’s ruling temporarily blocking the FTC’s final rule banning most non-compete agreements. The appeal comes as the FTC faces an October 19, 2024 deadline to appeal to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals the Texas Federal District Court’s injunction against the FTC ban on non-compete agreements.
