The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) launched the “Clean Air Act Resource for Data Centers” webpage to provide state and private sector partners developing data centers and artificial intelligence (AI) facilities with regulatory information, guidance, and technical tools for modeling, air quality permitting, and regulatory interpretations under the Clean Air Act.
The webpage has three sections: (1) “Regulatory Resources,” providing information on rules that apply to stationary combustion turbines and stationary engines; (2) “Air Permitting Resources,” housing EPA guidance documents, letters responding to permitting requests, and interpretations of permitting regulations; and (3) “Modeling Guidance Documents,” which lists the agency’s preferred air quality models for use in the Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) programs and provides modeling resources to assist with permit applications and showing compliance.
