The Homeland Security Department announced it is terminating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian immigrants who came to the U.S. during the Biden Administration. The cancellation of TPS is expected to result in 500,000 Haitians losing deportation protections and work authorizations in August 2025, despite the Biden Homeland Security Department extending TPS protections for Haitians until February 2026. Formal notice of the TPS revocation will appear in Monday’s Federal Register.
