According to a memo sent to DOL staff, Amy Simon, who was serving as the acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Employment and Training Administration (ETA), has left DOL. A DOL spokesperson declined to provide a reason behind her departure, but pointed to a memo sent out on April 21 to DOL personnel prohibiting leaks of agency information to the press and other third parties. The memo said that agency employees are barred from sharing “non-public, pre-decisional, or confidential information” with outside parties and cautioned that employees who engage in “unauthorized communications” with the media may face serious legal consequences and “immediate disciplinary actions.”
